Introduction[edit source]

Ivin Choerkin is the third son of Kotin, the second son of Clan Choerkin’s ruling line, placing him far from succeeding his uncle Lovar, the current clan head. Kotin, a bear of a man, commands Herald’s Watch, a strategically vital island. Ivin’s mother, Peneluple, died during childbirth when he was seven, along with his infant sister. Unlike his burly, dark-haired father and elder brothers, Ivin inherited his mother’s lean build and blond hair.

History[edit source]

Raised as a warrior rather than a potential clan leader, Ivin grew up on Herald’s Watch, training in combat and dreaming of a greater purpose. Like his family, he distrusts the Church and the holies of Istinjoln Monastery, but his mother’s influence fosters a stronger faith in the gods. Raised near Istinjoln, she maintained her devotion despite marrying into the skeptical Choerkin family, shaping Ivin’s spiritual outlook.

Personality[edit source]

Ivin is reserved, confident without arrogance. He obeys his father’s commands but quietly resents Kotin’s stubbornness and pride. An optimist, he views setbacks as temporary, maintaining hope in even the grimmest situations. Socially reserved, he prefers the anonymity of being a third son in a prominent family, avoiding the spotlight of clan affairs.

Physical Description[edit source]

Ivin stands 6’4”, lean and powerful, distinct from the brute strength of his father and brothers. Even when his serious demeanor breaks for a smile, it feels forced or reserved, making him jealous of Eredin, his cousin, and the man's easy-going smile. He grows shy around women, especially those he finds attractive. Humble and unassuming, he carries himself with quiet strength.
