Chapter Forty-Seven: Sisterly Love[edit | edit source]

Meliu reacts to a Shadow’s scream in the Fost by sending Jinbin with ale to the Luxun ship while she races to warn High Priestess Adelin in the temple, finding her and Sedut resolved to fight rather than flee. Doubting Ulrikt’s motives, Meliu flees as Shadows and Taken overrun the city, missing the departing Entiyu Emoño—carrying Ivin, Eliles, and Jinbin—after using Light to escape a mob and diving into icy waters with Heat prayer to survive. She rescues a boy and Deelee, discovering water’s power to destroy Shadows, and adopts Deelee as a sister to strategize their escape, witnessing the Fost’s desperate battle from the docks as priests and Choerkin resist a giant Shadow’s onslaught, leaving her stranded but determined amidst chaos.
