Chapter Thirty-Seven: Weeping Treasure edit

Smuggled aboard Captain Rumêru’s *Laughing Loon*, Poleen Juvukis, as Kontzulê Polênu Juvilêus, reaches Montôltok village with Âvorê, Nosohûm, and Mostulê guards to confront Infoduhû, the Crying Man, suspected of mastering donu-honêsh production. Infoduhû, a former Boborun slave, denies reading Boborun script or involvement in the donu trade, despite Poleen linking him to Aprelêu’s tear-painted donu-den guards. Proposing that donu-honêsh derives from honêsh via magical soil conditions, she suggests he could unlock indilus’s healing properties. Sensing a trap among rocks where archers might hide, Poleen retreats, convinced Infoduhû is the donu trade’s source, possibly still controlled by the Boboru or the Compunêu Trade Consortium. Regretting not pressing for a scroll translation, she plans to leverage his knowledge to secure Nicôdî tû Dêidontâ’s Written Jewels and Notoholis access, balancing her vengeance against Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ and Berjer Fendênus with her father’s yostul ambitions, as they return to Nodoru.
