Recognizing him from a fever dream, Poleen, at the Hissing Mink tavern, impulsively kills Captain Soderun tû Galortêu during Solineus’s negotiations, sparing his second, Qwimôn, to secure an escape. Mysteriously speaking Êdân, she invites Solineus to the *Silver Willow*. Facing Âvorê and Sandorelê’s disapproval, Poleen argues Galortêu’s death disrupts his crew’s pursuit, ensuring their voyage to Aprelêu. She proposes allying with Solineus to leverage the donu-honêsh cache against Infoduhû, the Crying Man, potentially controlled by the Boboru or Compunêu Trade Consortium. By using Solineus’s outsider status to gain Infoduhû’s trust, Poleen aims to uncover donu’s production secrets, translate the Boborun scroll, and destroy the trade, enhancing her leverage for Nicôdî tû Dêidontâ’s Written Jewels and Notoholis access. This plan supports her vengeance against Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ and Berjer Fendênus while aligning with her father’s yostul ambitions.
