Shemêu, confirming its authenticity via the scroll’s handle, offers the *Silver Willow*, a prized caravel, which Poleen accepts despite preferring gold, outmaneuvered when Captain Soderun tû Galortêu arrives, revealing Shemêu sold the manifest to him for gold, exploiting Poleen’s deal. Furious, Poleen probes Shemêu about the donu-honêsh trade, learning of the Crying Man, a rumored figure linked to the drug in Montôltok village near Seahawk’s Horn. For 20,000 quils, Shemêu confirms his sporadic presence, warning of dangers in the Emerald Shores. Poleen, suspecting the Compunêu Trade Consortium’s involvement, plans to leverage the donu cache’s location with Captain Rumêru’s help to reach Montôltok, evading Galortêu. With her father’s ships delayed, she aims to secure Nicôdî tû Dêidontâ’s Written Jewels and Notoholis access, balancing vengeance against Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ and Berjer Fendênus with her father’s yostul ambitions.
