Aboard the *Silver Willow* in Nodoru, Poleen Juvukis, as Kontzulê Polênu Juvilêus, meets Solineus Mikjehemlut, recognizing him from a fever dream and inexplicably speaking Êdân. Solineus, amnesiac from a shipwreck, claims familiarity but can’t recall specifics. Poleen, deflecting questions about her own memory gaps, offers passage to the Mâbuhon River past the Boborun blockade in exchange for Solineus, a hunted outsider, uncovering the source of donu-honêsh from Infoduhû, the Crying Man. Solineus, backed by a 100,000-smedên Mulshahar writ, agrees after consulting Adinvan and Sîu. Poleen plans to exploit Infoduhû’s greed as a Boborun slave to secure his donu secrets and translate the Boborun scroll, using Captain Rumêru’s ships for protection. By destroying Infoduhû’s crops, she aims to control the gulf’s donu supply, leveraging it to obtain Nicôdî tû Dêidontâ’s Written Jewels and Notoholis access, advancing her vengeance against Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ and Berjer Fendênus while supporting her father’s yostul ambitions, despite Âvorê’s distrust of Solineus and Rostlilê’s misread affections.
