Ivin, burdened as First Warlord, suggests they flee to the mountains, but Meliu acknowledges their duties—rebuilding the Church and protecting Kinesee from the Nesfereum, a cult of Rin’s heretics targeting her for an unknown prophecy. Seeking answers, Meliu confronts Sedut, only to be ambushed by Ulrikt, who reveals he saved Sedut and orchestrated Kinesee’s betrothal to Ivin for her safety, as the Nesfereum’s actions exposed a now-dead member. Ulrikt offers Meliu the role of High Priestess of Erginle and Kibole, the youngest ever, urging her to accept to counter the Nesfereum and continue deciphering the Codex of Sol alone, withholding secrets about the Lord Priest’s Face. Meliu, torn between her lost love and ambition, accepts, embracing her destiny.
