Chapter Six: Realities of a Man[edit | edit source]

Returning to Ivin in Choerkin Keep after dining at the Salty Frog, he reflects on his father's poisoning and dreams (or hallucinates) confronting Tokodin's apparition, who drunkenly confesses via The Touched's liquor bottle, fueling doubts about Faces, manipulation, and Tokodin's true self. Awakening to Eliles' arrival, they debate the liquor's revelatory magic and The Touched's warnings; she reveals secret conversations with him in Skywatch, aiding her discoveries. Ivin wrestles with trust in The Touched, his isolation, and aversion to entering Skywatch for global insights, finding fleeting normalcy in a cricket's chirp while pondering his father's legacy.
