Poleen Juvukis, Sandorelê, Âvorê, and Isidorus hide in Aprelêu, awaiting the *Lady Lêu*’s decoy sail to distract the Aprelê Guard. Adopting a plain dress, Poleen follows Isidorus through Old Town’s tunnels beneath the Martyr’s Fountain, navigating a donu-honêsh den guarded by men with painted tear scars, possibly linked to the Crying Man or Compunêu Trade Consortium. Pursued by guards, they evade a confrontation with crossbow-wielding “tear-faced” men, escaping through a cramped passage to a cellar in Red Sky District. Poleen distracts gamblers to slip into a saddle shop, reaching Pyrite Street. Spotting Ezeldu in stocks near Saint Nenulêzu’s church, Poleen sets a fire as a diversion, allowing them to reach dock twelve and the *Shupûtu* (*The Undaunted*). Sending Sandorelê and Âvorê aboard with Sevôlû and Îuntuk, Poleen stays to scout Ezeldu’s guard, vowing to reunite by sunset.
