Chapter One: History's Witness

Glimdrem, a Trelelunin weary from a decade-long quest in the jungles of Sutan, awaits instructions in the mystical Vale of Resting Winds as directed by the Lord Chancellor of Knowledge. His patience is tested until he’s approached by Uvin Lo, a enigmatic figure claiming to be an Archangel, who reveals a collection of ancient weapons from the God Wars, including a khopesh crafted from impossible materials. Uvin, along with two imposing feline Archangels, Gornit and Xanesu, unveils a plan to bind Celestial spirits to these weapons during an upcoming equinox, drawing Glimdrem into their circle as a historian. As the ritual begins, a cosmic disturbance erupts, connecting the weapons to a mysterious star, but it catastrophically fails, leaving Uvin dead, the other Archangels vanished, and Glimdrem injured and unconscious, haunted by the disaster he witnessed.
