The cultures of the Sister Continents are wild and wondrous, with an expansive base of intelligent species. As readers of the saga we have only come into contact with a handful so far, and we've had a few more mentioned. Here is what we've encountered thus far, and feel free to add on if I'm forgetting anybody!

Human Cultures edit

  • Silone: Native to the island of Kaludor and the primary culture of the novels so far.
  • Tek: The Hundred Nations dominate the north of Northern Vandunez, and while one culture, they appear to be split along religious and political lines.
  • Goro: A loose-knit culture on the Gorotan Penninsula comprised of several city states. The Contessa of Mostul Ûbar is based in this region.
  • Histê: These people dominate the southwestern region of Northern Vandunez.
  • Wiirê: A jungle/forest-based culture located south of the Dragon Span Mountains.
  • Kingdomer: The rulers of the Dragon Span Mountains, although they call the mountains The Foundations.
  • Nomnuvar: This people rules the Free Cities of Nomnuvar on the eastern coast of Southern Vandunêz, a region visited in The Contessa of Mostul Ûbar.
  • Darên: A people possibly related to those of Nomnuvar, they live on the Ôlfindarâ islands east of the Monsoon Straits.

Woodkin edit

  • Edan: Rulers of the Eleris, the Mother Wood, in the northeast of Northern Vandunez.
  • Trelelunin: A secondary species of Woodkin (depending on who is asked) who live in the Eleris and in the extensive forest south of the Eleris.
  • Helelindin: A third species of Woodkin who seem to live in the forests to the east of the Dragon psna Mountains (Foudnations).

Other Notable Cultures edit

  • Boboru: A merchant/pirate culture famed for massive ships and their brutal slavery. They are bigger than humans and hairless, with hexagonal patterns on their skin and sharp teeth.
  • Colok: A tribal bear-like species that lives in the mountains of Kaludor.
  • Ôgrêt: A tribal people sometimes mistaken for huge apes because they often wear ape and monkey furs. They are found throughout the Dragonspan Mountains and forests covering southeastern Nouthern Vandunez.
  • Luxun: A humanoid people hailing from the Sea Throne Islands south of Southern Vandunez, they are a seafaring folk known for their trade and exploration.
