EoS Chapter 21

Chapter Twenty-One: Chasing Choerkin

Tokodin tends to Mecum, dying in an Estertok cave, tormented by Shadow nightmares, as Zjin prepares him to warn Choerkin. Dressed in stolen priest robes, Tokodin rides a Tundra Wolf sled with Zjin, marveling at the Colok’s speed and wolf teams despite a painful tumble. They reach Omindi Pass cliffs overlooking the Crack of Burdenis, feeling a shrine pulse as Shadows emerge. Zjin carries Tokodin to intercept Modan’s fleeing warden patrol, pursued by silent Shadows. The Colok shield the wardens, and Tokodin, mistaken for a priest, pleads to speak to a Choerkin, learning Ivin and Pikarn are trapped in the Crack. Shadows surround them, ignoring Tokodin and Colok, as he clings to Modan’s horse, resigned to warn or die amid escalating chaos.
