SoM Chapter 09
Chapter Nine: Picking Roads edit
Rinold joins Warlord Polus Broldun's scouting expedition on the Sundumdobu Plains, seeking Histê patrols amid boredom and ghost fears. Encountering a vast migrating herd (bovines, giant deer, tusked behemoths), they theorize Histê search for buried roads, ruins, or fortresses to reclaim Mûulbon’s Mouth, control rivers, or project power. Unearthing granite confirming a hidden east-west road, they spot vanishing/reappearing six-figure groups—ghosts or illusions—evoking Breath Stealer dread, spurring plans to warn Endelêun and Mûulbon’s Mouth while prioritizing priestly aid.
