Frustrated, she tours the city with Âvorê, Sevôlû, and Belok, learning Mostul Ûbar’s wealth stems from sea trade, constrained by the Hôvrumâ’s control of fertile plains. On Nobûwolu Street, Prolimer Hôlmilêm Duzarm attempts to arrest her for peddling stolen gems. Poleen, refusing, duels and wounds three guards, impressing a noble from House Juvilêus, likely her uncle or cousin, who halts the fight. He invites her to Manor Juvilêus, but she’s manacled as a formality, suspecting her message about the Written Jewels reached her father, Kontzûl Juvilêus. Her resolve to leverage the jewels for influence and vengeance against Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ and Berjer Fendênus strengthens, despite the risk of arrest.
