Meris’ bone reading predicts love, danger, and travel, but offers no clear answers. Tensions rise as Kotin learns of secretive Broldun priests from Fermiden Abbey heading to Istinjoln, hinting at a power shift. Ordered by clan head Lovar, Ivin sails for Kaludor on the Sea Owl with cousin Eredin to join the Estertok Wardens, armed with his grandfather’s targe.
