Eliles, Ivin, Solineus, Lelishen, Rinold, and Tokodin arrive at the Steaming Lakes via Zjin’s wolf sleds on the 25th of Yistole, five days post-Eve, facing icy winds and a steam-filled basin. Eliles, warmed by Ivin’s shy embrace, slides down an icy slope into the marsh, leading the group to an unnamed crypt guarded by Wakened Dead. Her feral flames light their path through a pristine marble tomb, revealing passive skeletons and a speaking, armed Wakened giant who invites dialogue after Eliles navigates the horde. Lelishen translates an earlier crypt as Old Hostorun, while Shadows and Taken approach, avoided via water. The group, wary of the Wakened and pursued by demons, follows the giant deeper, balancing hope for the Sliver of Star against the crypt’s eerie wonders and lurking threats.
