ToP Chapter 03

Chapter Three: Mainland Rains

Ivin Choerkin, brooding aboard the Luxun ship Entiyu Emoño, arrives at the Hidreng town of Inster with Silone refugees, grappling with isolation and memories of loss. On the fifth day, land is sighted, and Ivin, alongside Solineus Mikjehemlut, Lelishen the Trelelunin, and two young sisters, disembarks to a chaotic coastal encampment. Reuniting with his brothers Roplin and Rikis, Ivin learns of rising tensions with the Hidreng, who demand a meeting to negotiate the Silone presence. Lelishen advises Ivin to represent the clans at Sin Medor, navigating complex Hidreng politics involving the Bishop and High Grace. The arrival of Lady Tedeu Ravinrin and Polus Broldun, a blunt but pragmatic clan leader, sparks debates over strategy, with survival hinging on a delicate balance of diplomacy, the threat of Edan intervention, and the hope of reclaiming Kaludor. As a storm looms, the group toasts to uneasy alliances, aware their plan is fragile but driven by the need to secure a future for their people.
