= Chapter Thirteen: Conversations with History = Glimdrem travels upriver with Limereu, the Edan who impossibly returned from the Father Wood, to investigate the late Archangel Uvin’s study. Their conversation dances around the Oxeum Codex as Limereu, amnesiac yet expressive, probes Glimdrem’s intentions, while he marvels at her un-Edan warmth. Arriving at Uvin’s home, they find it stripped of books, but Glimdrem discovers a globe fusing Ikoruv and Latcu—materials thought incompatible—proving Uvin solved a forging mystery from the God Wars, as seen in the Vale’s khopesh. Limereu suspects her sister, Chancellor Fesele, left the globe deliberately, and Glimdrem reveals his decade-long, deadly quest for the codex in Sutan, driven by personal loss and a desire to unravel Uvin’s secrets. Spotting a jade monkey statue with missing eyes, Glimdrem recognizes it as a clue to the Temple of the Blind Monkey from Sutan, potentially hiding the codex. Concealing this from Limereu with a half-truth about a friend’s death, he downplays the study’s contents as mere trinkets, masking his renewed determination to pursue the codex, wary of Edan scrutiny but fueled by the statue’s promise of answers. * [[ToP Chapter 12]] — Adopted into Blood * [[ToP Chapter 14]] — Snores are Life * [[Trail of Pyres]] - Main Chapter Listing [[Category:Glimdrem]] [[Category:Limereu]] [[Category:Uvin Mention]] [[Category:Chancellor Mention]] [[Category:Eleris]] [[Category:Mevelensa Mention]] [[Category:Vale of Resting Winds Mention]] [[Category:Father Wood Mention]] [[Category:Motu Ensa Mention]] [[Category:Sutan Mention]] [[Category:Molo Mention]] [[Category:Prophecy]] [[Category:Oxeum Codex Prophecy]] [[Category:ToP Chapters]]
