By dawn, Puxele leads a party to the Omindi, leaving Pikarn, Ivin, and others to escort Meliu to Istinjoln as her wounds heal. Arriving at the majestic yet foreboding monastery, Ivin admires its grandeur while wary of its secrets. Woxlin greets them, taking Meliu’s book and spinning half-truths about Shadows emerging a year ago, claiming containment efforts failed despite the book’s guidance. Pikarn calls out the lies, planning to monitor the Eve externally. That night, a fire sprite lures Ivin to Eliles, a postulant revealing Guntar’s scroll: Istinjoln’s ritual to speak with Sol unleashed Shadows, not Colok, as Woxlin claimed. She hints at Fermiden’s lord priest and a power grab, urging secrecy. Captivated by her, Ivin agrees to keep watch, dreaming of her as a bride amid fitful sleep.
