= Chapter Forty-Three: Passing Pinch = Poleen Juvukis, as Kontzulê Polênu Juvilêus, safely navigates the Nebuhol Pinch to deliver Solineus Mikjehemlut to the Mâbuhon River, avoiding Boborun ships blockading Lultûhol. In Aprelêu, she’s greeted with fanfare at the Distant Crown Dock, meeting Konlul Nobûn, Bulilêôs tû Nodruhôn, Velôshêu tû Modrilus, and Berjer Fendênus tû Amdwol, whose veiled threats, alongside Relegôs tû Keldelin’s taunts, stoke her resolve for vengeance against Fendênus and Nedrich nâ Hilêômbrâ. Planning a grand ball to probe Aprelêu’s political web, Poleen encounters Hovêen tû Sedlômu, who warns of threats, including from the Moltôlboc family. An assassination attempt kills an innocent woman, possibly by Montô Gibelê, prompting Nobûn to confront Fendênus as Kontzûl Emerotô’s imminent arrival looms. At the Rainbow and Swan, Poleen, shaken but resolute, receives Nicôdî tû Dêidontâ’s invitation via Sûnugar, setting the stage to leverage the donu-honêsh cache and Mulshahar Writ for the Written Jewels and Notoholis access, advancing her vengeance and her father’s yostul ambitions amidst Aprelêu’s dangers.
