= Chapter Twenty-Five: Mule Ears = In Mulshahar, Solineus, sporting berôt-skin boots with flapping “mule ears,” banters with Adinvan and Hadin as they board the Lady Moon longship, preparing to sail to Emudar islands with Captain Edmordô’s fleet. Guardian Zerik Mô’od, unexpectedly present, delivers two messages: a letter from Kinesee, sealed by the Ironwing, and an oral warning from a Smiling Man to delay sailing for seven days for safety. Solineus, skeptical of the vague warning, plans to sail wide to evade potential threats, suspecting the Smiling Men’s motives. Kinesee’s letter reveals dire news: Maro’s death in a Malstefnê ambush targeting her, possibly orchestrated by the Heretics of Rin; the Malstefnê’s victory over the Malôbund, now threatening Rôemhîik; and the Yellow-Eyes’ (Wiirê) capture of Rinold and hundreds of Silone and Helmveliners, prompting Ivin and the Ironwing to send thousands south. Kinesee’s mission to Holelorin seeks Helelindin support and Kingdomer pilgrims’ access to the Final Foundation to bolster the war effort. Most shockingly, she discloses Solineus’s secret son, Veldehar, with Lelishen, urging him to find her “where the Snow meets the Sun” to protect the child’s life. Overwhelmed, Solineus nearly abandons the voyage to ride east with an army, but Adinvan convinces him to lead the Emudar’s naval forces, committing to join the war. Solineus reveals Veldehar’s existence, surprising Adinvan with his new grandson, as they resolve to navigate the wars and reunite their family, balancing personal stakes with the Emudar’s strategic role. * [[WoG Chapter 24]] — Slippery Thoughts * [[WoG Chapter 26]] — Facing Deceptions * [[Whispers of Ghosts]] — Main Chapter Listing [[Category:Solineus]] [[Category:Adinvan]] [[Category:Hadin]] [[Category:Zerik Mô’od]] [[Category:Kinesee Mention]] [[Category:Maro Mention]] [[Category:Meliu Mention]] [[Category:Rinold Mention]] [[Category:Ivin Mention]] [[Category:Lelishên Mention]] [[Category:Veldehar Mention]] [[Category:Lady Moon]] [[Category:Kônu Bay]] [[Category:Mulshahar]] [[Category:Prâterêut Mention]] [[Category:Roemhien Mention]] [[Category:Holelorin Mention]] [[Category:WoG Chapters]]
