= Chapter Eighty-One: Forge the Sun = Solineus, now a guest of the Sun Forge in Holvin Dô-ar, delves into the arcane art of crafting his Singing Shield, funded by King Sînhôlar the Ironwing’s treasury writ. Under the tutelage of the seasoned smith Âemêsu, he learns the secrets of infused metals: Ikoruv, a naturally hard and flexible "holy iron"; Ofdôlus, the blood-chimed infused silver that grants the shield its resonant song; and Lislinêum, a lighter-than-air infused mercury that reduces the shield’s weight. In the blinding heat of the Sun Forge, powered by Elemental Heat-infused gemstones from the God Wars, Solineus witnesses the meticulous process of smelting and alloying these materials, marveling at their transformation into a near-indestructible disc. As Âemêsu prepares to shape the shield, Solineus chooses the black Ikoruv for its outer face, prioritizing stealth and durability over the aesthetic allure of the silvery-red Ofdôlus. Amidst waiting for the shield’s completion, Solineus receives heartening news of Morik’s safe return with Hîmr’s Coin to Molikîn and a letter from his daughter Kinesee, detailing her life at a growing settlement and hinting at looming threats, grounding his anticipation with ties to family and unresolved dangers. * [[ToP Chapter 80]] — A Ruined People * [[ToP Chapter 82]] — The Low Mountains * [[Trail of Pyres]] - Main Chapter Listing [[Category:Solineus]] [[Category:Âemêsu]] [[Category:Kinesee Mention]] [[Category:Morik Mention]] [[Category:Sînhôlar Mention]] [[Category:Ivin Mention]] [[Category:Meliu Mention]] [[Category:Holvin Dô-ar]] [[Category:Sun Forge]] [[Category:Shuntiskâ Mention]] [[Category:Molikîn Mention]] [[Category:Roemhien Pass Mention]] [[Category:ToP Chapters]]
