Kinesee enlists sister Alu and sister-in-law Izilfer to hunt prophetic tomes in Endelêun's underground, starting at the Codex of Sol discovery site amid rearranged furniture and empty shelves. Speculating on common libraries with hidden vaults mirroring Istinjoln's structure, they ponder the carved map-table's latcu gems. A green gem suddenly glows, projecting a beam along Palace Road and a white lion's paw shadow on the ceiling. Racing topside with guards, Kinesee witnesses vivid, translucent ghosts of ancient Silone inhabitants—vibrant in colorful attire, embossed lion armor—going about daily life; a child ghost interacts, speaking faintly in Canonic Silone. Ghosts vanish abruptly; group theorizes gems detect Elemental surges tied to hauntings, questioning the builders' intent. Roplin arrives, bemused by their "ghost chase."
