= Chapter Fifty-Three: Son in the Blinding = Solineus, guided by Helelindin magic and hospitality, reaches Nosuperelôn after a swift journey up the Mâbuhon River. Reuniting with Lelishen, he meets his son Veldehar, a Trelelunin-human hybrid whose existence defies Edan lore, prompting Lelishen to reject Solineus’s marriage proposal to protect the child from Edan judgment. Veldehar’s interaction with the Twins, divine swords that speak to him without harm, unsettles Solineus and Lelishen, hinting at their Celestial connection and the boy’s unique nature. Lelishen reveals the Malstefnê king’s assassination has shifted war north, but Ivin and Kinesee march south with Kingdomer armies, stirring trouble. Discussing the Lady’s warning of a “White Lion,” possibly linked to the god Rin, Solineus ponders her motives and the Twins’ role in summoning Kûmjotu-Kî, a primordial dragon of immense power. Alone with Lelishen, they climb a mountain to discuss Veldehar’s future and the Twins’ Celestial ties, theorizing the Lady’s dream communications stem from a spiritual link akin to the swords or Kinesee’s pearl. Their talk is interrupted by Ôgrêt, massive horned beasts, whose leader challenges them with a ritual display. Solineus counters by slicing the Ôgrêt’s iron staff with the Sister and invoking Kûmjotu-Kî, earning a dismissive yet nonviolent response. As the Ôgrêt depart, Solineus and Lelishen, relieved, banter about his adventures and Sîu’s affections, deepening their bond while grappling with the uncertainties of Veldehar’s safety and the looming southern conflicts. * [[WoG Chapter 52]] - Talker Taken * [[WoG Chapter 54]] — Silent Talker Screaming * [[Whispers of Ghosts]] - Main Chapter Listing [[Category:Solineus]] [[Category:Lelishen]] [[Category:Veldehar]] [[Category:Sîu]] [[Category:Adinvan]] [[Category:Sololu]] [[Category:Bedîuho]] [[Category:Kinesee Mention]] [[Category:Ivin Mention]] [[Category:Morik Mention]] [[Category:Ulrikt Mention]] [[Category:Inslok Mention]] [[Category:Ironwing Mention]] [[Category:Nevaruherin]] [[Category:Melôjer]] [[Category:Nosuperelôn]] [[Category:Eleris Mention]] [[Category:Father Wood Mention]] [[Category:Yungilêtunu Mention]] [[Category:White Lion Prophecy]] [[Category:WoG Chapters]]
