= Chapter Eight: Frozen Repose = Ivin Choerkin, hungover from a stormy three-day voyage on the Sea Owl with cousin Eredin, arrives at Choerkin Fost. Greeted by Pikarn, the gruff Wolverine, he joins the Estertok Wardens to address the Ihomjo mine collapse, but learns of murdered priests and miners. After a silent ride through Merutven and Muollin, they reach Ervinhin, where Pikarn reveals eighteen mutilated bodies—priests killed by Colok, then eaten post-mortem by an unknown man-like creature, and miners attacked alive, some with eyes removed. Ruling out Wakened Dead and Dævu, Ivin sees a chance to unite Church and Choerkin against a common foe. Eager for dawn, he prepares to hunt the mysterious predator with the wardens. * [[EoS Chapter 07]] — Dead Man's Message * [[EoS Chapter 09]] — Faces [[Category:Ivin]] [[Category:Pikarn]] [[Category:Modan]] [[Category:Puxele]] [[Category:Rinold]] [[Category:Suvarn]] [[Category:Eredin]] [[Category:Enard Mention]] [[Category:Choerkin Fost]] [[Category:Ervinhin]] [[Category:Merutven]] [[Category:Muollin]] [[Category:EoS Chapters]]
