Maimer's Lash

The Maimer's Lash is an artifact from the Age of God Wars, a whip that splits the skin* to a bleeding wound that won't heal on its own, and even when healed by Elemental Life leaves a clearly visible scar. The Maimer's Lash is assumed to be a weapon carried by The Maimers of The Maimers and Mercies fame.

• In the real world, whips do not open wounds easily, and this is part of the whip's magic. Historically, even a bullwhip requires a person to be "stretched" so that their skin is pulled tight for a whip to open wounds. If you think of the famous cat-o-nine-tails, their nastiness comes not from the tails, but the steel claws in those tails that ripped people open.
